Luke 9:23 And What Does it Means for All of Us!!

Luke 9:23 and what it means for all of us.         This is an essay that ask one question.   What does this Bible verse really mean?   It is simple because we are supposed to be just like Jesus Christ.   What this really mean to me is that I am supposed to deny myself, forsake all of my sins, and take up my cross on a daily basis.   I am supposed to follow Jesus Christ on a daily basis.   I want to inform all of you that Jesus wants us to follow Him for the rest of our lives.   I am a person who has come a very long way in my personal walk with Jesus Christ.   I am willing to yield all of my possessions and give it to the poor.   I am the type of person who is very nice, kind, polite, helpful, giving, and always reading the Bible on a daily basis.   I want you to know that my personal life consisted of ups and downs right now.   I have attended morning worship at my home church Fort McKinley United Methodist Church in Dayton, Ohio. Next, I want to ask everyone this importan

How Many Promises Are Inside of The Holy Bible?

How Many Promises are inside of the Holy Bible?         This is a very important question that I would like to ask.   How many promises are inside of the Holy Bible?   I am asking this question because I would like for someone in Theology School or Seminary School to enlighten me with their knowledge and expertise about the Promises that are inside of the Holy Bible.   This is an essay that consists of one question.   I know that there are 66 Books inside of the Bible itself.   However, according to Rick Warren, an Evangelist out of the State of California, stated recently that there are at least 5,500 Promises that are inside of the Bible.   I would like for someone to please tell me whether this is true or not?   I am just curious to know how many promises are inside of the Bible.   Next, I have been reading the Holy Bible since I was 4 years old.   When I was a baby, my mother used to read the Bible in order for me to calm down.   I have been reading the Bible as of this

What Does The Bible Say About Slander?

What Does The Bible Say About Slander? Answer:  The old adage “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is not true. Words can do a great deal of damage to those who have been slandered. Slander is making a false verbal statement that damages someone’s reputation. Slander differs slightly from  libel  in that libel is a written defamation of character; slander is only spoken. The Bible says a lot about slander, in both Old Testament and New ( Proverbs 10:18 ;  1 Peter 2:1 ). Slander is so high on God’s list of wrongs that He included it in the Ten Commandments ( Exodus 20:16 ). The ninth commandment says, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Bearing false witness includes slander because of the untruths being spread. Slander is simply  lying  about someone with the intent of causing others to view that person in a negative light. Slander is malicious lying, and God hates lying ( Proverbs 6:16–19 ;  12:22 ). Since God is the author

Comfort for Persons Who Suffer from a Mental Illness

Comfort for persons who have a mental illness!                                 By                 Anthony Joseph Hopkins         This is an essay that pertains to comfort for persons who suffer from a mental illness.   I would like to say that I am a person, who suffers from a mental illness.   However, I am using spirituality as a means of coping with my mental illness.   First, I want to say that I suffer from schizoid affective disorder.   I have been suffering from a mental illness for almost 22 years now.         Next, I hear voices that are not the Holy Spirit on a daily basis.   I have been hearing voices since November 5, 2009.   It is not very easy coping with a mental illness.   I do understand that spirituality is a universal truth, yet a highly individual journey.   When we begin an inward journey of self-discovery, we are led back into the community and care for others.         Further, according to Hebrews 13:5 says: Go

Spirituality as a Coping Skill for Mental Illness

Spirituality as a Coping Skill for Mental Illness                                         By                         Anthony Joseph Hopkins Mental illness alone is very challenging for more than 40 million people living in the United States. People who struggle with the diagnosis of a mental illness find themselves struggling to make it. Frankly, there are people, who turn to their faith in God just to make it. Personally, I suffer from schizoid affective disorder. I have been suffering from a mental illness for almost 23 years now. Why having a serious mental illness would is so difficult?   For me, I hear voices that are not the Holy Spirit. In my report, I have found that spirituality is an often overlooked resource in mental illness recovery. My assessment of religious or spiritual beliefs are under researched, and in most cases, it is laughed at by the Mental Health Community. Honestly, most psychiatrist refuse to actually listen to

My Soul Pants For The Lord!!

My Soul Pants for the Lord!!               This is an essay that I really love the most.   Psalms 42:1 states as the deer pants after the water brook, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.   My soul at this times will always crave for you Lord.   There was a period of time when I used to crave for marijuana and other mind altering substances from 1972-1990.   I prayed to God on May 2, 1990 at 7:00PM to remove my desire to smoke marijuana, crack, and alcohol.   I was sincere in my prayers to God because I was tired of being sick and tired of the high cost of low living.         Next, I want to inform everyone that I no longer have a desire to smoke marijuana and drink alcohol.   I really feel good about myself because I do not connect with people from my past anymore.   I want to inform everyone that a hart is a deer.   My soul desires to hear the voice of God every day of my life.   I want to inform everyone that I am praying to God every single day in order my nieces and nep

The Race is not for the swift/Self Esteem

The Race is not for the Swift!! Self-Esteem Included!!         This is an interpretation of Ecclesiastes 9:11.   The Bible verse means that we have to persevere and go through personal trials and tribulations for Jesus Christ sake.   I say this is simply because it gives me an opportunity to do what I want in Jesus name.   What is the definition of the word opportunity? The answer to this question is a chance for advancement and improvement.   This also means that I have to maintain my faith in God; in spite of any problems that are in my way as far as obstacles are concerned.   This Bible verse also pertains to everyone.   I know for me personally, I have to maintain myself in terms of dealing with my personal stress that is present in my personal life.   My caretakers, family members, and friends have always motivated me to do anything that in a positive manner.   For Example, when it comes to receiving an education, it is important for me to have a game plan or a plan of a
